On our 40 acre property, Fernwood Hills, just west of London Ontario surrounded by the great hardwood forests of Southern Ontario, we believe in reusing and salvaging this gift that we have been given. We started this in a small way back in 2013 by milling the remnants from a nearby forest after a logging operation.
Seeing the leftover tops and other parts of trees that were forgotten or seen as unusable, we began salvaging these parts of the trees and milling them on our property in Komoka. Slowly this hobby has grown to where we are today. Saving many old trees that are cut in the parks and backyards of the London area, we are now salvaging trees for use in our wood products from across Ontario.
Burl and Plank’s line of wood products is constantly evolving as we work to create more sustainable and unique, one of a kind pieces, that we feel proud to share with others. We are constantly inspired to do better, think differently, and work each day. We love bringing the beauty and natural designs that only nature’s elements and time can create into homes and businesses.
We believe in reusing, repurposing and finding value where others may have seen little. Creating original and custom wood products from trees Canadian trees otherwise forgot. Our hope is that in doing so we may inspire others to embrace nature in their lives as well.
